Happy Mother’s Day to all you beautiful mamas out there!! It is fitting that we set aside an entire day to celebrate the woman who brought us into the world and raised us. A mother is someone who is forever on your side and is your greatest cheerleader. She will let you have the last piece of cake and will care for you when you don’t feel well. She devotes her time and heart to your growth and well-being. Make sure to take the time to celebrate her and show her how much you appreciate her. You can start by taking her out for a nice meal. There are many great restaurants on the Outer Banks, but here are a few that are running Mother Day Specials:

Captain George’s
The ultimate seafood dining experience! Join the Captain on Sunday, May 9th, from 11:30 a.m. with the last seating at 9 p.m. The buffet is the regular price: $41.99. No reservations on Mother’s Day.

Mako’s Beach Grille & Bar
Celebrate Mom in a very special way at Mako’s! Sweet tea marinated bone-in pork chops, broiled Carolina crab cake and Mashoes striped bass, and Surf & Turf with filet mignon and lobster tail are just a few of the specialty dishes being offered on Sunday. Open 4-9 p.m., curbside pickup and delivery (5 mile limit) available.

Nags Head

Sugar Creek Restaurant
Spectacular soundside views and fresh seafood. Sugar Creek’s Mother’s Day Buffet will have offerings such as fried shrimp, fried oysters, NY strip, honey cured ham and so more! Adults $23.99, children 13 and younger $12. 11 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Full dinner menu available after 4 p.m.

Basnight’s Lone Cedar Cafe
A local tradition, Basnight’s Lone Cedar Café is a favorite among many. Their Mother’s Day Buffet will start at 10:00 am through 2:00 pm. They will have local seafood, Shrimp & Grits, Pamlico Sound Fried Green Tail Shrimp, Turkey and much more! Adults $26, Children 6-12 $13, 5 and younger eat free. Reservations are recommended 252-441-5405. Their full dinner menu will be available at 4:30 p.m.
