Backyard Hangouts 2024
Outer Banks Outdoor Restaurants
Sometimes dining out just isn’t enough to fill your evening. Sometimes you want to hang out a bit, maybe play some volleyball, or so throw some cornhole. It’s nice being able to chow on some good food and be outside having fun. Outer Banks restaurants with live music? Check. Restaurants with Outdoor Dining? Check. Overall, 2023 checks out for being able to have a great time in an outdoor space at your favorite Outer Banks restaurants.
Give yourself an enjoyable, fun-filled Outer Banks evening. These are places on the Outer Banks made just for those evenings.
Tortugas’ Lie
Join Us in our Backyard Playground! Tortugas’ Lie has been THE place for beach volleyball on the Outer Banks. There are professional nets, a netted perimeter, and a turfed area for spectators. Most evenings in the summer, you’ll find a competitive level of beach doubles volleyball as part of this Outer Banks Outdoor Restaurant. Both courts are challenge courts and we welcome players who are into the beach doubles game to come join us. Even if you are not a player, we invite you to join us for some great volleyball action, a cool beverage, and a fine sunset.
FishHeads
How would you like to have the mighty Atlantic as your backyard? Not many places can lay that claim, but the Outer Banks most favored outdoor place to gather can. Fish Heads in South Nags Head, on the Outer Banks Pier, offers their famous happy hour SHRIMP with a multitude of beers on tap and the best sandwiches on the beach.
Miller’s Waterfront
The only thing we overlook is the water. Enjoy fresh traditional seafood downstairs at Miller’s Waterfront Restaurant or casual small plates and drinks at The Waterfront Sunset Bar & Grill. As the sun sets over the Roanoke Sound, watch the kiteboarders and windsurfers while enjoying a cool and refreshing beverage at Millers Waterfront.
Village Table & Tavern
A stunning setting overlooking the Currituck Sound makes The Village Table & Tavern’s backyard unlike any other. A covered, open-air Sound Lounge leads to an expansive waterfront lawn with sweeping views of the Currituck Sound. With live music most nights, a bar serving your favorite libations, yard games, a firepit, and stellar sunsets, it’s the ideal spot for enjoying the Outer Banks vibe.
